The ride of tomorrow is almost ready to depart as Tron Lightcycle Run now has an official opening date at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
Tron Lightcycle Run is unquestionably the biggest attraction addition to Walt Disney World in 2023, and we now know that after several pandemic-era delays, it will officially open on April 4, 2023.
In the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, Tron will take guests on a thrilling ride with Team Blue racing against Team Orange in a quest to be the first through eight “Energy Gates.”

WALT DISNEY WORLD
As one of the fastest roller coasters in all of the Disney Parks, demand for this ride is likely to be very high.
We anticipate a virtual queue is likely to be in place in the early months of operation, as has been the case for new ride openings in the last several years. Additionally, here’s how to make a Park Pass reservation to ensure you can get into Magic Kingdom on the day of your choosing.
If you have an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World, you might see guests racing on Tron a bit sooner than April 4, as Disney cast members will enjoy previews in the coming weeks, along with annual passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club members.

Notably, Disney also just announced that the popular and beloved “Happily Ever After” nighttime show is returning to the Magic Kingdom on April 3, 2023. An interim nighttime show at Epcot, ‘Epcot Forever,’ will debut that same night.
An all-new show will be coming to Epcot later in the year. Phased removal of the controversial fireworks platforms used for Harmonious will begin after that show’s final show on April 2, 2023.
